We know that it is very difficult not to be in love with all the plants when you go shopping, bur it is very important know where you are going to put your new plant. Besides the light conditions, it is also important to know the space we have for can choose the perfect plant or plants.
Remember that even if the plant is very small at the beginning, it may grow so much that the space we had in mind for she becomes too small. On the other hand, if the plant is small and doesn’t grow much, in a big space she will go completely unnoticed. Another very important aspect is not to put them near radiators, fans or air conditioners.
3. Water them properly
Make sure you know what watering pattern your plant needs when you buy it. Most, but not all, houseplants like to have a moist substrate. So you can water it when you see that the soil is starting to get a little dry. The perfect way to check if the soil is wet is to insert your finger or a stick under the first layer of soil. If it comes out with soil stuck to it, it is still wet and you can wait a little while to water it. If it comes out with nothing, the soil is already dry and needs to be watered.
Another aspect of watering that you should consider is not to leave the plate with water too long, as it could rot the roots. Therefore, the best thing to do after watering is to wait for the water to drain and empty that water from the dish.
4. Give them light
Plants need light to live, but should never receive it directly, as they could burn themselves. Be careful also not to put them in front of a window, because the glass could make a lens effect and burn them. In summary, put them in a place that gives them light but be careful that it is not direct. 🙂
5. Controls pests and bugs
To avoid scares, it is essential that you take a look at your plant every time you water. when you see something strange happening to it, go to your nearest garden center to get help.
